If you've always kept animals as pets, you may have jokingly referred to yourself as a zookeeper more than once or twice. You may have even fantasized at times about having a real zoo in your backyard instead of boring domestic pets. Imagine how you'd look walking down the street with a tiger on a leash. People would be impressed and you would certainly feel as if you were quite important. Or just think about the splash you'd make at your neighborhood park if you were riding on an elephant. No one would ever think that you were a wimp again.
To get started with your new hobby of keeping zoo animals in your backyard as pets, research your local state laws, but don't forget to check the city ordinances where you live as well. You may run into some obstacles, but there is no need to let them stop you. Go wild!
