Erectile dysfunction is a pretty common health problem, but it can be embarrassing to talk about. Whilst we'd always recommend you visit your GP as a first course of action, it may be reassuring to know that the cure could be as simple as a few minor lifestyle changes, such as drinking less or shedding a few pounds.
Smoking in particular has been linked to erectile dysfunction as it causes a build up of plaque inside your arteries, clogging them up so that blood can't get to where you want it to – especially when you consider that the artery carrying blood to the penis is the smallest in the body, so often the first one to be affected! Think smoking might be causing your, ahem, little problem? Get help with the NHS' free Smokefree kit.
Smoking's not the only thing that could be causing your erectile dysfunction though. Everything from obesity to stress can have an effect – check out this infographic to find out more!
